China's glory and power in 5G world War, commercial landing is the key!

Zhao Houlin, Secretary-General of the International Telecommunication Union, believes that 5G is no less than the fourth industrial revolution.

China aims to achieve large-scale commercial use of 5G in 2020, according to Xinhua News Agency.

From 1G to 4G, the main solution is communication between people, and 5G will solve the communication between people and things outside of people, things and things, that is, the Internet of everything.

"4G changes life, 5G changes society." Ding Haiyu, director of the Wireless and Terminal Technology Research Institute of China Mobile Research Institute, said that 5G is a new communication technology, which will be closely combined with artificial intelligence and big data in the future, and will open a new era of the Internet of everything.

Needless to say, every generation of communication technology change is accompanied by the ups and downs of the fate of the country and the change of the commanding heights of the semiconductor industry.

Communications technology can even determine whether a war is won or lost.

In World War II, all sides wanted to improve torpedo accuracy.

They usually use a wireless signal to guide the torpedoes.

But the enemy can also divert the torpedo from its target by jamming radio signals.

This is because early communications were transmitted simultaneously on a separate channel, and the enemy could detect the guide channel and jam the signal, rendering the attack blind and self-defeating.

How to avoid signal interference?

Legendary musician George Antell and Hollywood actress Hedy Lamarr have achieved "frequency hopping" transmission of signals based on the principle of automatic pianos.

It's a genius idea.

Frequency hopping technology can split the original single channel into several narrow-frequency channels to transmit information, and these signals are transmitted according to a random channel sequence, and the receiver combines the discrete signals in the same order. In this way, for the receiver who does not know the channel sequence, the received signal is basically equivalent to noise and is useless.

In December 1940, the two men sent a note to the National Inventors Council.

In August 1942, the invention was granted a United States patent. This is frequency-hopping communication technology.

This technology not only saved the lives of countless frontline Allied soldiers at that time, but also directly gave birth to the CDMA technology, 3G technology, WIFI technology that is now used, and will forever benefit future generations.

Hedy Lamarr, the legendary actress of beauty and wisdom, is also revered by later generations as the mother of frequency hopping technology (or CDMA mother).

In the late 1950s, Heidi's brilliant design idea was widely used in military computer chips, so the patent was kept secret until the end of the Cold War.

After the end of the Cold War, the U.S. military deregulated many communications technologies, including frequency hopping, allowing them to be commercialized.

This kicked off a global boom in civilian mobile communications.

In the 2G era, GSM in Europe led the world, and Ericsson and Nokia rose rapidly.

In the 3G era, Japanese i-Mode swept the world, and NTT DoCoMo was among the fastest growing companies in the world.

In the 4G era, the United States took the lead in layout, and a large number of enterprises such as Apple and Google grew into big Macs.

The result was the second-longest boom in American history, with millions of jobs and hundreds of billions of dollars in output each year.
